Playgroup is the ideal setting for children to learn, to socialize and accept simple rules, and to experience messy, creative, imaginative, manipulative and physical play under guidance of caring adults.
All these experiences are necessary if children are to learn about the world around them and acquire the skills to help them develop fully (emotionally, intellectually, socially and physically).
The following play is provided every day; sand, water, paint, dough, cutting and sticking, arts and crafts, computers, home corner and roll play, table top and small world toys, stories and interest table, songs, rhymes and physical play.
Other activities offered frequently are simple cookery, road safety, craft and music making.
Carryduff Playgroup adheres to the curriculum provided by DENI in the Pre-school Curriculum Guidance Document.
This concentrates on the following areas of learning and development
- The World Around Us,
- Early Mathematical Experiences,
